souring slowly.........bitterness is at hand
and in this momentary eternity.....

I make my last stand!

What is wrong with me? Am I letting them bring me down?
The demons in my head keep slapping my brain around.
There was a time when I had faith, a time when I was strong.
I used to tell myself things would get better, but they continue to go wrong.
I used to believe that I could make things better.
Like an oak tree I could withstand the harshest weather.
But now I know the truth, I am no better than you.
You only care for yourself, and from now on that's how I'll be too.


I wish this life would end.
I wish it'd all just go away.
At night I lie there wondering,
If I'll make it through another day.
But inside my heart is pounding,
And the question still remains,
How did you come to be as you are?
Or were you just born that way?



I'm becoming just like you, angered at every turn.
And looking at you in this light, my heart no longer yearns,
To be something better, to heal my loved one's wounds.
Now all I want is to wash my hands of you.
I want you out of my life, your smell out of my clothes.
The cold inside my heart, aches all the way to my toes.
I know that you don't care, because you never even notice.

I guess I can't be too angry, I've learned alot from you.
By watching how you act,
And the selfish things you do.
You taught me to be numb to the way that others feel.
You taught me that compassion,
Was worth as much as a square wheel.
I remember trying to tell you that life was worth the living.
But you've proven to me the benefits,
Of taking and never giving.
I have but one more thng to say,
before we go our separate ways.
I hate you for never caring,
And myself for giving so much away.
